In 2023, Tulsi Vivah will be celebrated on November 23rd and 24th. November 23rd is the Ekadashi Tithi of Shukla Paksha in the month of Kartik, and November 24th is the Dwadashi Tithi. In most regions, Tulsi Vivah is celebrated on the Dwadashi Tithi, so the main date for Tulsi Vivah in 2023 is November 24th.

The auspicious Muhurta for Tulsi Vivah is from 5:25 PM to 6:44 PM

Tulsi Vivah, also known as Tulsi Kalyanam, is a Hindu festival that celebrates the symbolic marriage of the Tulsi plant, or holy basil (the personification of Lakshmi), with a Shaligram or Amla branch (the personifications of Vishnu or his avatars). Tulsi Vivah marks the end of the monsoon season and the beginning of the wedding season in Hinduism.

The date of Tulsi Vivah falls between the eleventh or twelfth lunar day of the Shukla Paksha (waxing fortnight) of the Kartik month, which is in the month of November or December according to the Hindu calendar. The day varies regionally.

The Tulsi Vivah ceremony resembles a traditional Hindu wedding. The ceremony is held in homes and temples where a fast is observed until evening, when the ceremony begins. A mandap (wedding pavilion) is erected in the courtyard of the house, where the Tulsi plant is usually planted in the center of the courtyard in a brick plaster called the Tulsi Vrindavan.

During the ceremony, Tulsi and Shaligram are decorated with flowers and garlands and tied together with a sacred thread. Hindu mantras are chanted and rice and kumkum are sprinkled on the bride and groom. Tulsi is then presented with gifts such as a saree, jewelry, sweets, and even a mangalsutra. A traditional wedding feast is held after the ceremony.

Tulsi Vivah is an important festival in Hinduism. It is considered an auspicious day that signifies good fortune and prosperity. It is also an occasion when people come together and celebrate a shared religion and culture.
